Urban Decay Super Curling Mascara

Urban Decay Super Curling Mascara Review & Photos!
I was really excited to purchase this mascara and to see what the results were! I hadn't seen many reviews on it so I thought it would be a good opportunity to show you myself :)

I really liked the packaging for this product as it came in a cute little box (sorry for the no photo) and the actual mascara tube looks great, it's a sturdy container (obviously don't know what it was made out of *sadface*) and I really liked the swirls on it as it made the tube look fancy and unique. The mascara wand itself is a hard curved plastic one, which captured the product really well on the bristles and there wasn't any clumping on my lashes which was great!

The only problem I had with this mascara was that I have quite curled lashes anyway (oh life is hard! haha) and it just made some of them look a bit odd, but it worked great for my bottom lashes. My tip that I would use for this wand is to dab it on a piece on tissue paper before applying on your bottom lashes, just to make sure there are no clumps - it works a treat! :)

I got this from beautybay and it cost £15, I would probably buy again but just have to wait and see how long this one lasts! :) has anyone else tried this mascara? If so, what's your opinion? xx

MAC Brush Cleanser

MAC Brush Cleanser Review - Before & After

I heard a lot of different views and opinions of this brush cleanser, but I thought I'd give a go anyway as MAC hasn't really let me down before! I haven't tried any other brush cleaners just because I haven't got around to it but I'm sure there's plenty out there. This one retails for £8.50 and I can assume it will last for a very long time.

What I first did was tipped a fair amount of liquid onto some tissue paper (try to layer the paper as you don't want it to rip) and then spin the dirty brush in a circular motion so you get all the makeup off from all angles. As you can tell, the 188 brush was fairly mucky from my liquid foundation, but that doesn't matter as a good cleanser should work through a good amount of build up. From the photo bellow you will see the results which I think is very good! It didn't get absolutely everything off of the brush but bearing in mind I hadn't cleaned it in ages! I  was very impressed with the results and would definitely recommend! :)

MAC Studio Tech

I'm going start this post off by saying I love MAC products so I'm not just slating them for the sake of it! I have oily/combination skin type so I usually stick to oil free liquid foundations with a good powder etc... But I wanted to experiment and try this as a foundation, for me it doesn't work well at all. When I try and do a sort of sheer coverage, I find that It goes on patchy and doesn't cover up any of my red blemishes on my face (I have fairly red cheeks!). So I tried to build more coverage but it just ended up looking almost crumbly on my skin (I had a moisturiser and primer on underneath) which wasn't very pretty! But I was still determined to make this foundation work so I applied a light powder foundation on top but unfortunately this made no difference what so ever. I used NC15 which was chosen by a MAC artist in store so that wasn't why it may have looked strange on my skin.
For me, this didn't work at all and I probably won't be using it again, but I've read many reviews on the Studio Tech and they have nothing but good words to say about it so you never know! I first tried this foundation with my MAC 190 brush and then tried on a separate occasion using my 187 & 188 brush, which ever works best for your skin! If anyone has any suggestions about this foundation then do let me know :)

Ole Henriksen Lip Salvation

Ole Henrikson African Red Tea Exfoliating Lip Salvation - Review.

This really is the best lip balm I have ever used! When you put this on you can feel it exfoliating your lips with tiny tiny beads. In the pot it's kind of like a reddy pink paste which is so easy to use as you just apply as much as you want. I actually originally bought this for my boyfriend as he was complaining one day about having chapped lips... but I fell in love with the product instead! It costs £10 and I bought it from beautybay. It's lasted me for ages and I've had it now for at least half a year and there is still more then 3/4 of it left in the pot, bearing in mind I use this every day! Would definitely recommend anyone to try this.

OPI Alpine Snow & Rainbow Connection

Firstly, sorry about the poor quality photo! I tried to make it better but it clearly didn't work :( I used 2 coats of Alpine Snow & also 2 coats of the Rainbow Connection Glitter (from the Muppets Glitter Collection). I really love these two polishes together and it's very glitzy, dried quickly but a pain to remove! xx

OPI Excuse Moi!

This polish is Excuse Moi from the OPI Muppets Collection which was released in the UK a couple of months ago. I really love this colour as the base is a really nice pinky colour and it has multi coloured pieces of circle glitter in it - greens, purples, blues, oranges... everything! It's an amazing polish and I think my favourite from the Muppets collection, it's a shame it takes so long to remove! But all glitters are the same.

MAC Hue Lipstick

This post is on MAC's lipstick in colour Hue. Apologies for the chapped lips! How embarrassing. The price for all their lipsticks is £13.50 and for this colour I think it is worth it! It goes on so smoothly and has buildable coverage, its a light pink which I wear daily! My definite favourite lipstick. What's your favourite? xx

MAC Plush Lash Mascara

Hello! I thought I'd start on my makeup posts and this one is on MAC Cosmetics Plush Lash Mascara which costs £13.50 which is pricey but there is a lot more expensive ones on the market. It is a fairly large bristle brush which gets a lot of product on. When I first started using this I didn't really like it that much as I usually go for hard plastic brushes as those tend to work better for my lashes, but once you get used to this one it's really fab! The photos don't really do it any justice (I need a new camera) but I used 2 coats. Would recommend :) xx

OPI DS Extravagance

Hello people! This swatch is for the colour Extravagance from OPI's Designer Series collection. This one retails at £16.75 along with all the others. I used 3 coats to achieve this look and in the light this colour is amazing, it glitters so well and makes your nails look pricey! (you'd hope so at the cost of the polish). I think I captured the right colours in the photo but it really does glisten! xx

OPI Need Sunglasses?

I thought this colour brings a bit of summer to winter, it certainly brightened up the office at work today! This colour isn't for everyone but I personally love it :) I think I did have to use about 3-4 thin coats of this to achieve this look though, but I think it's worth it! Takes a fair while to dry but I'm ridiculously impatient when it comes to waiting for polish to dry.. xx

OPI Gone Gonzo & Alpine Snow

Okay so today my swatch is on OPI's Gone Gonzo from the Muppets Glitter Collection. On the photo to the right I first used 1 coat of Alpine snow just to get a base layer so the blue would stand out more. I then used 3 coats of Gone Gonzo to make it fairly bold. I wore this colour for nearly 2 weeks without it chipping! But the worst part was removing the colour. I think I probably spent nearly 1 hour trying to take this colour off, it was so stressful! Although the photo really doesn't do it any justice, It's an aqua/turquoise rich sea blue which is stunning with silver large and small silver glitter pieces. Definitely a statement nail polish! xx

OPI Glitter Muppets Collection

Just thought I'd show you the Muppets Collection Glitters! I'll be swatching and reviewing these soon! They all retail at £10.50 each :) xx

OPI DS Coronation

Helloo! Second post this week, you must be lucky! This is another colour from the Designer Series which all polishes from this range retail at £16.75. I love this colour but to be quite honest it did chip fairly easily! And you'd think from paying a lot of money for a polish it would last a bit longer. The photo really does not do this colour any justice, as it's so holographic and colourful! A completely gorgeous colour and I think I used 3 coats. xx

OPI DS Temptation

Hello! This post and swatch is for OPI's Designer Series Temptation :) Firstly, this colour is a beauty! I think I used 3 coats but it possibly could've been 4, as on the first and second coat it looks fairly odd so you may need a few, depending on what you like! This polish retails at £16.75 on BeautyBay but I'm sure you'll find it cheaper on a trade website if you are buying in bulk. This colour is a deep glitter purple with tiny blue glitter pieces! My major plus for this polish is that it dries so quickly which is very handy! xx

OPI Be A Dahlia Won't You & I Lilly Love You

Hello again! I'm aiming to put a few posts on today but if I don't, then I apologise as I have been fairly busy! (watching x factor & big brother) it's a hard life.

What can I say about these two colours? I love them! I saw someone else put these colours together to I thought I'd try them out myself. They are both from the OPI Nice Stems Collection, so I assumed they'd go well together anyway. I've also taken a photo of both of the bottles so you can have a look at them seperately. I'm not too sure whether I'd wear I Lilly Love You on it's own as I think it would be a bit too bare. But I'd definately wear Be A Dahlia as it's a gorgeous colour! xx

OPI Simply Smash-ing & Spark De Triomphe

Hello again (this is my last post for today!) I can't explain how beautiful these two colours are together! To be honest, I don't really like Simply Smash-ing on it's own but with Spark De Triomphe on top it is gorgeous! I used 3 coats of Smash-ing and 2 coats of Triomphe. I have been wearing this polish for 4 days now and no chipping! A very happy bunny, go and buy them! x

OPI You're A Pisa At Work & I Juggle... Men

Hey again everyone. I know the photo for this one is crappy (sorry!!) but these two colours together are lovely, if I remember correctly I have 2 coats of Pisa and 2 of Juggle... It does take a while to dry but it sure is worth it! Very raspberry/shimmery which is stunning :) once again, apologies for the picture but it's better than none! x

OPI Swimsuit... Nailed It!

Hey! Today I'm going to be uploading 3 new posts as I haven't been on here for a while, so this is the first! I cannot explain how happy I am with this nail polish! I don't usually go blues but this one really is amazing! It's a really deep blue which looks lovely with anything :) would really reccommend this to anyone wanting to invest in a blue polish! Really is one of my favourites!

Monday, 26 September 2011

Hello everyone! I thought I would do a swatch and a review on the OPI Absolutely Alice! I really love this colour, in the picture you can't really see it very well, but it's got gold and turquoise glitter bits in it - it's lovely! I have three coats on in the above picture, however you only need to use 2 but I like my polish nice and bold! My only criticism is that it peels of fairly easily, as I only applied it last night and at work today the whole polish from one finger came off in a big chunk! I can see the funny side but I guess it would annoy some people! But I'd say a good 4.5* buy :) I hope you enjoy :) xxx
