Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer - 161

Evening everybody! I've got some really great news for you! On Friday I had my final Nail Technician theory and practical exam and guess what... I passed! So I've now got a Next Step Beauty Diploma as a Nail Technician. I'm so so pleased as I was ridiculously nervous but it was all worth it in the end :) I do Manicures, Acrylic, Gel, Fibreglass and Silk nails. I can't wait to start advertising and to build up my portfolio, it just shows that if you put your mind so something then anyone can do it!
I recently saw this gorgeous Chanel lipgloss in shade 161 at the airport duty free in Gatwick when I was on my travels to Barbados! I instantly fell in love with it as it's the sort of lipgloss that can match with so many colours. I really love the look of it on top of MAC Creme Cup lipstick - they work perfectly together.
It's a really cute bubblegum pink with tiny little gold flecks running through it, just my cup of tea!
The texture and longevity of this product is AMAZING. It really is the best lipgloss I have ever used. Even with the mini flecks of gold glitter in it, it glides on the lips perfectly with the shiniest finish ever. I love the sleek packaging and the ever famous Chanel logo on the top of the lid makes it look even more perfect. I struggled a bit with trying to capture the accurate colour of this lipgloss, especially trying to get the gold glitter but I did my best with 2 cameras!
Unfortunately (for my bank balance) this has now started off my love for Chanel products and there will be many more to come! I'd love to hear about all your experiences with Chanel, so please let me know! Bye for now :) xox

OPI Strawberry Margarita

Hello lovelies! It's been a boring time for me at work this week constantly starring outside to gloomy rainy days! But fortunately last week I took a couple nail polish photos and OPI Strawberry Margarita is one of them! I recently got this one for my birthday and I'm absolutely in love with it! The formula is amazing and almost like a light soft gel. I used 2 coats which is all you need to achieve the perfect opaque colour and then 1 OPI top coat. I love that it's got no shimmer to it as I find shimmers unfortunately don't exactly flatter my pale skin tone!
I had this polish on for about 3 days with no chips, which for me is amazing! Usually day 1 they are all over the place ha. I think OPI Strawberry Margarita will suit any kind of skin tone as it really is a superb pinky/watermelon creme colour :) I will 100% be repurchasing this once it has run out as it is definitely one of my favourite OPI polishes! Have any of you guys tried this polish out? xox

Michael Kors Watch

Hello beauties! Recently I've been a real accessories fan and what better accessory can you have than a gorgeous watch! I've only now got 2 watches, my daily one is my black Dolce & Gabbana which I got a couple years ago, so I thought it was time to reem it up a bit more and get a new one. I'm sure a lot of you know that Michael Kors watches are a favourite to many people in the blogging world, but there's a clear reason for that - they are gorgeous!

I couldn't decide whether to go for a gold one or rose gold, but I thought most of my jewellery is gold so it's better matched. It's golden stainless steel and waterproof up to 100metres. I'm absolutely in LOVE with the crystals embellished on the outside of the face and going into the strap, it's totally gorgeous. Whenever it's on my wrist I can't help but stare at it!

I wore it to work the other day and ok MAYBE it's a bit to blingey to be working in a shop but why not! I got soo many compliments on it and I'm really chuffed to pieces which this purchase! You can wear it for a night out or simply wear it to dress up a day outfit - it goes with anything.

I cannot fault this watch in the slightest as it's completely stunning. At the price of £230 I would definitely recommend this 100%, so go out and get it as soon as its payday - you'll regret it if you don't! xox

OPI Haul

Morning everyone! I thought I'd show you some of the latest goodies I got on my birthday! Bought 4 of the colours a couple days before, so I thought I'd so one big post on them.
I absolutely LOVE all of these shades and I am so pleased with my choices (Obviously I didn't let the boyfriend choose!) So from L-R it is as follows -
Pirouette My Whistle, A Grape Fit!, It's MY Year, Elephantastic Pink, Strawberry Margarita, Mod About You, A Good Man-Darin Is Hard To Find, Over The Taupe, No Room For The Blues, Teenage Dream.
If any of you are wondering, it took a LOT to find OPI Teenage Dream (Katy Perry Collection) but I managed to find it for £20 from a respectable ebay seller - pricey but I love it! Please let me know if you have any of these shades, I can't wait to swatch them all for you, so stay tuned! Lots of love xox

Complete Nail Technicians Kit

Hey everyone!! I'm SO excited to show you this! I received my 'complete nail technicians kit' today in the post and I am so pleased with what I got. Although some of it is a bit daunting as my Nail Technician course is on the 13th - 16th August so I am yet to know what a lot of this stuff is for! But it is definitely amusing watching me stare endlessly at a lot of these products haha.

I purchased this kit from Next Step Beauty, which is where I will be doing my course here. I won't list everything I got in the kit as that will be too mind boggling so I hope you just enjoy the pictures! I really can't wait to use them all and I'm even more excited for my course :)

As you can see there is a lot of stuff! It will cover manicures, acrylic nails, gel nails, fibreglass and silk nails. Please let me know if any of you have done a nail technician course as I'd love to know what you think of it! It's my birthday in two days time (3rd August) so there will be plenty of blog posts coming soon!! Speak soonies, mimi xox

My Top 3 OPI Glitters

Hello everyone! As you all may be aware I have a crazy obsession with glitter and also with OPI polish, so a great thing is that OPI do an amazing range of glitter polishes - what more could I want! So I thought I would scour through my collection and pick 3 of my favourites to show you guys!
Tadaa! In no particular order its Save Me (Nicki Minaj Collection), Teenage Dream (Katy Perry Collection) and Rainbow Connection (The Muppets Collection). The reason why I chose these 3 is because they are so versatile, you can pair them with so many things, apart from Teenage Dream which only works well with Pink polishes but I'm not complaining!
Save Me, Teenage Dream, Rainbow Connection
In Save Me and Teenage Dream they both have holographic flecks in them which I LOVE. They are quite sheer but extremely buildable so it has the best of both worlds. Rainbow Connection is such a cute glitter, as it has different sizes of flecks in the polish so you really don't have to apply much, and it will obviously pair great with ANY nail polish as it has nearly every colour of the rainbow in it!

Be warned though - If you are a newbie to glitters I would really recommend to not just slather lots of layers all over the nail as they are the most annoying and irritating things to remove!! What are your favourite glitters??? xox

OPI Nail Envy Original - Review

Hey everyone! Back to nail posts for a while... and I can promise you there will be a big OPI polish haul soon to show you guys, just you wait!

I've got fairy brittle, flimsy, thin (basically crap) nails, and as you may know, I work in retail so they are constantly getting knocked around and broken on a daily basis. I tried keeping my nails really short for a while to see if that helped the strength get back in my nails but that sadly didn't make a difference. It was definitely time to purchase something to bring my nails back to life.

The reason why I chose OPI Nail Envy Original was because I was already an existing OPI customer and LOVE all their other products I have tried, so I thought I may as well give it a go!
There are different variety of Nail Envy products in that range such as:
- OPI Nail Envy Dry & Brittle
- OPI Nail Envy Sensitive & Peeling
- OPI Nail Envy Soft & Thin
But I decided to go for 'Original' as I didn't want to target just one weakness in my nails. In all honestly I'm sure all those products work the same, but judging by some reviews some work better than others, but in my opinion I think it's extremely important to understand that it's peoples personal views, it doesn't necessarily mean that individual product will be crap on everyone!

I apply this product to my nails every other day (or as a base coat under nail polish) and I really have seen an improvement in the condition of my nails! They definitely feel a lot thicker and stronger and are less prone to breaking. OPI Nail Envy Original is 100% one of my must have products and would recommend to absolutely anyone! It also gives a great natural glossy finish to the nails and doesn't take long to dry.

The only reason why I would rate down this product is because it varying around the cost of £18 it's a very hefty price for the size of a nail polish bottle! Although I have been using it for a while now and it doesn't seem like the product is going down at all, as you don't need to apply much to the nail. I hope this has been helpful to some people and I would love to know any of your must have nail products! xox

NOTD

Heeey everyone! Just a quick post today :) After I finished work at 3:30 today I thought I haven't painted my nails in ages as I'm waiting for some new goodies for my birthday (19 days... not that I'm counting...) but I thought WHY NOT. In all honesty, I am very disappointed at my attempt to be somewhat 'creative' with this nail... I think I'll stick to my girly shades and glitter from now on haha!

I used OPI Did it on 'em and OPI You're A Pisa Work :) I will definitely be doing more nail post soon so be sure to check them out! Speak soon! xox

MAC Matte

Evening! Firstly, I'm not too keen on the name of MAC Matte... I just think it's so unimaginative and boring, but I guess that's me being picky! haha. Anyway! Lets get started...
I bought this product a couple months ago now and haven't really had much intention of using it and it certainly isn't one of my 'daily must haves'. I originally got it as I thought it would be a great primer for my T-zone area as I struggle with oily/combination skin, and I've heard people rave about this product before, but it definitely works better for some more than others.

The first method of using this product is by using a eye blending brush I applied it onto my t-zone buffing it into the skin, then straight away applying my foundation. At first it makes your skin feel super smooth, but almost greasy, which isn't very good as I wanted something to help reduce the shine on my skin!

My second method of using this product was to use it as a primer on my lips - which I will carry on doing so! It gives a really great smooth base and I find that my lip products actually DO last longer. You can do the same on your eyelids before applying eye shadow.

It is a gel like consistency and buffs well into the skin, making foundation easier to apply. It does mattify your face when you apply but it's not great longwear throughout the day. I'll definitely be using up this tube but won't continue to apply to my face as I feel it really doesn't do anything for it, and for the price of £14 I probably won't be repurchasing :( but to cheer things up, have a picture of my pouting face with MAC Matte as a base!! Has anyone else tried this product? Lots of love xox

MAC Chocolate Brown Pigment

Pigment time!! Okay so this is the first full sized bottle of pigment I have bought, I previously had 5 mini versions which I believe are from the Tartan Tale Collection, my set was called 'Smoky Thrillseekers  Pigments/Glitter' but I might be wrong ha it was a long time ago! But anyway...

When I saw this online on the MAC website I thought it looked like the eyeshadow I've been missing! It's described as 'Chocolate/Copper Bronze' which in all honesty is exactly what it is, but I was hoping for a deep brown colour with now golden/bronze undertones which is exactly what it has :( It is a very medium copper brown colour which I personally do not like copper on my eyes as I find it just looks orangey (not just this pigment, other eye shadows too!)

It is very pretty and shimmery and I will most definitely be using it all up, I am disappointed that it isn't exactly what I thought it would be, also bearing in mind it is £16.50, so is it really worth it?? It comes with a little plastic lid which is handy for when you open the bottle the pigment doesn't go everywhere!

(L) Twinks, (R) Chocolate Brown
As pictured above, I think that it is a very similar to MAC's eye shadow in Twinks. The orangey undertones are extremely alike to each other, although the Chocolate Brown Pigment presents more of a shimmery sheen, but pigments are also a lot harder to blend (just in my opinion)
Well I hope you enjoyed this post and I will be speaking to you all soon! Lots of love xox

How to: Clean your makeup brushes!

Hey everyone! I hope you are all good in the hood haha. Unfortunately I have a massive crack down my laptop screen hence why I haven't been blogging for a couple days - bad and expensive times my lovers! So I thought I'd show you all how I clean my brushes, it's the way which works amazingly for me but others may not like the results, everyone has their own preferences! :)

I got James to take the photos for me whilst I was cleaning them so I apologise for the off-colour shots haha. I will take you through my proses through the photos :)

Firstly, put a good sized blob of a basic shampoo or one for dry to normal hair onto a plate, I used Loreal Elvive Nutrigloss Crystal shampoo, as it's just an all round good one! It's also sparkly so that's always a plus point ha :) put the whole brush into the shampoo and then dab ever so slightly into some olive oil.

Swill the brush into the palm of your hand (or all over!) until you can see the residue product is near enough fully off the brush. You can tell this by the shampoo going a slightly off colour as it'll be mucky mmm nice haha.

Now rinse the brush under lukewarm water, not hot water as you don't want the inner glue on your brushes to loosen up = lots of fallout! Whilst under the tap you should carry on doing the swirling motion on your hand (with the shampoo already washed off.) You will be able to tell when the brush is fully clean when there is no more bubbles (shampoo) coming out of the brush.

And vwala!! Your brushes are clean and smooth! I then leave them placed on a towel (as pictured above) overnight and shape them correctly. They will be dry by the morning so ready for use! This is honestly the best method I have done! I would suggest to skip out the olive oil step on synthetic fibre brushes (e.g. concealer brushes) as it could end up making them a tad greasy which is so not reem, but it works fabulously on the real hair.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and the photos courtesy of James, I'd love to hear your methods of cleaning brushes but I do recommend giving them a good clean like this once a week to keep them in top form! If I want to give a brush a quick clean then I just use MAC Brush Cleanser. Lots of love!! xox
