Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation in Ivory Review, Before & After shots :)

Hey everyone :) hope you all are well! Today's post is going to be on Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation in shade Ivory. I have had this on my makeup desk for some time, and hadn't really used it since I bought it for whatever reason. I bought it for £7.99 at Boots :)

I've been wearing this for about 3 weeks now and I really do think it's great! As I'm quite pale and got the lightest shade which is Ivory, I was worried that it might turn out to be a bit orangey as it looks a bit dark in the bottle, but I can positively say I am far from orange ha thank god :) I find that the best way to apply it is by using a foundation brush, I love using the MAC 190 but you can buy alternatives at places like Boots or Superdrug but they are still quite pricey - link

The foundation feels really lightweight on the skin and doesn't get dry after a couple hours like some foundations do. I only need one pump and that covers my whole face with ease. It blends really well into the skin and I'd say it gives me a confident medium coverage, but I always top it with MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder in NC20 which works best for me and gives me a great full coverage (along with concealer under the eyes)

I think this foundation gives my face a better whole colour, as I have fairly red cheeks :( so I have a better skin tone. Some people may not like this but I personally like a foundation that makes my face one colour so I can then use blushes/bronzers/highlighters etc to play around with!

I can't believe I'm showing you this haha!

In the photo shown above of me with the foundation I have moisturiser and primer on so it applies a lot easier, I also have a cheeky bit of concealer under my eyes before the foundation. I'd give it a good 8.5/10 as I think they could do a few more shades to suite people better. I'd love to know if anyone else has tried this? And what do you think of it? I hope you all have a great day xxx

Oh so Gucci!

Thankfully these past few days I have been able to whop out my sunglasses! I think the whole of the UK is pleased of this weather but I certainly hope this isn't going to be our Summer :( but anyway! Last Summer I treated myself to a new pair of sunnies which was of course an impulse buy which I wasn't so impressed when I realised the price tag! But nevertheless I am glad I bought them as I love them so much :) I do think that this style of glasses won't really go out of fashion, as they suit all sorts of people, not like things such as aviators seeing as I look terrible in those haha.
What are your favourite type of sunglasses? And can you really justify the price tag? I like to think so! Haha.
I love the packaging!

Nivea Hydro Care

I'm just going to say to start off with - this is the best lip balm/salve (whatever you want to call it) ever!!! I started using this about 2 months ago and 1 tube lasted me a month, but I used it whenever my lips were dry all day every day so it's not bad at all!

The cons to this product is that some people may find it a bit 'greasy' but to me I just think it's moisture! I was searching for a product like this for so long and I can't exaggerate the fact that it truly is amazing haha. I suffer from dry lips all year round and this does the job perfectly, to me it also feels like it repairs chapped or broken lips, if not then it makes them feel great ha.

At the price of only £1.99 at Boots, please go and get yourself one!

P.s I'm sorry for the lack of posts at the moment, I will definitely be posting more, and just to let you guys know - I've started donating to PETA, please have a look a their website and I hope the message will get across at some point xx

MAC Select Cover Up Concealer

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts recently - although I don't really have an excuse for it! Shame on me :(Today's post is going to be on MAC's Select Cover Up Concealer and I'm using shade NW20. I was toying whether or not to get NW15 as that is the colour I have in the studio finish, but although I am very pale I thought that was too light for me, and I'm very pleased I picked NW20 as it's perfect for me :)

The reason why I chose this concealer out of all of them is because I prefer a creamy concealer to  a solid formula (such as the Studio Finish). You get 10ml in the tube which is great as I probably use about half a pea size each time I use it, so it's going to last me forever! So it's lucky that I love it ha :)

The best way I find to apply it is to put a small amount onto my hand using the nozzle on the end (which is super nifty as it lets you dispense exactly the right amount of product that you wish to use). I then start applying it with the 195 brush as it makes it easier to get the product as close to the eye as possible. Once that is blended in with the brush and dry, I then apply another layer on top by dabing my finger on the area so it doesn't smudge what is already there and helps build better coverage.

Then ta daa! My dark eyes and imperfections are near enough gone! I also use this on certain parts of redness on my face, which it covers perfectly. I really really recommend this product and this is now permanently in my makeup essentials! I hope this worked this well for everyone else who has tried it or wants to try it! Lots of love xx

Face Of The Day

Hey everyone :) I'm thinking about changing the layout for my blog but I'm struggling to decide what sort of background would look good? And what sort of writing style/colour, as I don't want it to be difficult to read! So if you have any thoughts then please let me know :)

This is only my second 'FOTD' so if I'm missing out on any information then please do tell haha. As it was sunny and reminded me of the summer I thought I'd go for a pink look and I think I was really pleased with the outcome! Oh and yes I am in my dressing gown :LMy hair is wet in this photo and yes it is a bad hair day, but I went to Nandos and watched 'This Means War' at the cinema, was great! I wore high wasted River Island jeans, plain white top and a cream blazer :) But I haven't figured out a way to do timer on my camera so you're going to have to wait for the 'OOTD' posts ha :)

The products used are listed below :
Face - Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream, MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage, MAC Select Cover-Up (Will be reviewing soon!), Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation in Ivory, MAC Pressed Powder NC20, MAC Translucent Finishing Powder, MAC Powder Blush in Fleur Power.

MAC Lip Pencil - In Synch

Morningg :) I'm so lazy I'm still in bed ha oh well, going to work at 2 so this is my time to relax :) my post today is a swatch for MAC Lip Pencil 'In Synch'. The reason why I chose this colour is because from seeing photos of it, it seems like the perfect nude/pinkey lip liner which would go with most every day lipsticks - and it does exactly that! :) I do think it's slightly orangey but I guess that means it'll match with a lot more varied lipstick colours.

As this is my first lip liner, I found it quite challenging to apply haha but I guess practice makes perfect! I think this might slowing become part of my makeup essentials! It's quite a long stick as well so I'm assuming it'll last a fair while.

Below is a picture of me using it with MAC lipstick Cremecup, you can't even tell! Ha. xx

How much is your face worth?

Hey everyone, just a quick update before I get into today's post... I have great news! A really amazing hair and beauty salon local to me have said they would like to take me on as a beauty therapist apprentice in September! So I will also be starting my NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy at that time! Words can't describe how pleased I am! I will finally be able to go down the career route I have been dreaming about :) but anyway back to the post ha..

So I have decided to do a 'How much is your face worth?' post as I think it is quite important to realise how much money you are actually spending on cosmetics which you wear everyday - plus it also shows how much money all these cosmetics brands are making!

I've taken a photo (below) of all the product that I use every day, and it's only when I took the photo that I realised how much junk I am putting on my face daily :/ maybe this will help reduce the amount of makeup we wear? (probably not).

List of products that I use:

Neutrogena Oil-Free Facial Wash
Nivea Oil-Free Moisturising Day Cream
MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage
Maybelline Super Stay 24h Concealer - Light
MAC Studio Finish Concealer - NW15
E.L.F Flawless Finish Foundation - Sand
MAC Studio Fix Powder - NW20
MAC Transparent Finishing Powder
MAC Shimmer Blush - Trace Gold
MAC Eyeshadow - Mulch
MAC Eyeshadow - All That Glitters
MAC Eyeshadow - Short Shorts
MAC Plush Lash
Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara
MAC Impeccable Brow Pencil - Taupe
MAC Brow Set
Nivea Hydro Care Lipbalm (Not in photo)
Too Faced Lip Insurance
MAC Lipstick - Cremecup

So this lot comes to a staggering £218.01 (why the .01?! haha) and I think it is fair to say that is a ridiculous amount of money on products which will be used quickly :( puts it into perspective though, I will definitely start using the products less. If you include the cost of brushes it then comes to £344.01.. Good lord! I'd like to see everyone else's 'How much is your face worth' posts so let me know!! I didn't know people were allowed to have this many essentials haha. Speak to you all soon xxx

MAC Naughty Saute

MAC Naughty Saute is from the SHOP MAC Collection which came out recently. The reason why this one stood out it me from all the others is because in all honesty I didn't have a lipstick in this colour haha.

Naughty Saute is a Cremesheen which is my favourite finish on lipsticks as they apply so easily. It's a fairly buildable colour so it will suit most people. It's described as a 'Bright pepto pink' ... as if I know what that means haha! But I would say it's a really soft candy pink with a hint of purple. It has tiny specs of shimmer in the colour which I think it makes the lipstick even prettier.

I can happily say that this is my second favourite lipstick (Cremecup is 1st of course) as it I think it really suits my skin tone and I will be wearing this fairly often! Hopefully you guys can get your hands on this one before it's sold out - but I think this should definitely be put into their permanent line as it really is amazing. xx

MAC Viva Glam Nicki

When I first heard that Nicki Minaj was going to be part of MAC Cosmetics I was so excited! I really do envy this lady, OPI and MAC? What next?! Anyway! So they describe this lipstick as a 'Bright yellow pink' and in all honesty I think that is what they have delivered.

For me, this definitely is not a daily wearing lipsticks but it would work really well in the evenings, but that's not to say you can't wear it throughout the day :) it just would make me personally look a bit silly.

I used the 316 brush to help me apply this as I am quite pale and obviously when wearing a bold lipstick colour like this, it helps to use a brush to try and get everything as accurate as possible. It's a really great colour but I wouldn't say it's buildable, as once it's applied on your lips the more you put on it'll just stay the same colour.

I'd like to know what you all think of this lipstick so let me know! :) xx

MAC Please Me Lipstick

Morning everyone, sorry for not blogging for a while, I have been without my (boyfriends) laptop! :( But never fear as I am back ha :) This is a quick run down of the lipstick Please Me by MAC. This is a very popular lipstick so I thought I may as well see why everyone likes it!

Firstly, it looks a lot darker in the tube than how it comes out on the lips, but that may vary for different people as I have quite redish/pinkey lips naturally and I'm not into the whole foundation lips thing ha.

I usually stick to neutral pinks/nudes for my lip as I'm quite scared that I'll look silly, but I think if you're one of those people as well then this colour is a good way to break that fear! It's a really pretty light rosey pink and I think it'll look great on all skin tones. Happy Monday ! :)

My gosh I didn't realise my lips look this big haha!
