How to: Clean your makeup brushes!

Hey everyone! I hope you are all good in the hood haha. Unfortunately I have a massive crack down my laptop screen hence why I haven't been blogging for a couple days - bad and expensive times my lovers! So I thought I'd show you all how I clean my brushes, it's the way which works amazingly for me but others may not like the results, everyone has their own preferences! :)

I got James to take the photos for me whilst I was cleaning them so I apologise for the off-colour shots haha. I will take you through my proses through the photos :)

Firstly, put a good sized blob of a basic shampoo or one for dry to normal hair onto a plate, I used Loreal Elvive Nutrigloss Crystal shampoo, as it's just an all round good one! It's also sparkly so that's always a plus point ha :) put the whole brush into the shampoo and then dab ever so slightly into some olive oil.

Swill the brush into the palm of your hand (or all over!) until you can see the residue product is near enough fully off the brush. You can tell this by the shampoo going a slightly off colour as it'll be mucky mmm nice haha.

Now rinse the brush under lukewarm water, not hot water as you don't want the inner glue on your brushes to loosen up = lots of fallout! Whilst under the tap you should carry on doing the swirling motion on your hand (with the shampoo already washed off.) You will be able to tell when the brush is fully clean when there is no more bubbles (shampoo) coming out of the brush.

And vwala!! Your brushes are clean and smooth! I then leave them placed on a towel (as pictured above) overnight and shape them correctly. They will be dry by the morning so ready for use! This is honestly the best method I have done! I would suggest to skip out the olive oil step on synthetic fibre brushes (e.g. concealer brushes) as it could end up making them a tad greasy which is so not reem, but it works fabulously on the real hair.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and the photos courtesy of James, I'd love to hear your methods of cleaning brushes but I do recommend giving them a good clean like this once a week to keep them in top form! If I want to give a brush a quick clean then I just use MAC Brush Cleanser. Lots of love!! xox

MUA Lip Gloss - Shade 5

Hello my lovelies!! When on my lunch break the other day I popped into Superdrug to see if there was anything new, and they've started to stock MUA products! So for the bargain of £1 I thought I'd give this lip gloss a go :) Below are some photos!

So I'm actually really pleased with this gloss! The reason why I chose 'Shade 5' is because it's a really pretty clear pink with specs of multicoloured glitter, which of course I love! It's not sticky at all unlike a lot of high end lip glosses can be. To get the full potential out of this gloss I'd wear it over a good pigmented matte lipstick.

This product smells so lovely and fruity I 100% recommend this to anyone who is contemplating getting this! I will most definitely be purchasing more products from MUA :) I hope you do too! Xox

OOTN

Morning!!! Firstly, sorry for the crappy photos, I was in a rush :( but I hope you like them!

The other evening my boyfriend (James) and I were going to his friends 21st and the dress code was 'smart casual' so I think I kind of got the right impression as some people there were in hoodies! How awful ;)

My favourite piece of this outfit would have to be my blazer! I've been in love with it ever since I bought it, and I've done a previous review on it here. My vest top is from Allsaints which I got last spring I believe, possibly the summer. High waisted jeans are from River Island, black wedge heels are from Newlook (they are so comfy!!) and the gold beaded necklace was from Top Shop.

I guess you could probably get away with this look in the day if you are one classy bird! But I am not one of those :P

Anyway, I am off to work so I hope you all have a fabulous day! Lots of love and many hugs xox

Monthly MAC Haul

Hey everyone!! I've missed you all very much, but I won't bore you with why I haven't been posting in a while... but I'm back yay!!! Today I thought I'd make a post a bit less boring with some extra pictures haha.

Firstly I thought I'd share with you my latest MAC haul which I did indeed splash out on but I love every item equally and spent my hard earned cash wisely! Although some may disagree :P

Mineralize Skinfinish - Soft And Gentle

Harmony Blush - Pro Palette
Studio Fix - NC15

I hope you like the pictures! So there are reasons why I bought all these, firstly the palette. I've wanted to build my blush collection for some time now but I find the packaging quite bulkey so it's so much easier to keep them tucked inside a palette, plus it's so much easier for storage. Which then goes on to Harmony blush, I've been looking for a good contour for ages and I do like this one! I find  when used on it's on it looks a bit dirty on your face but once you've applied a highlighter and blusher it looks fab.

I've never owned a highlighter before so I thought it's about time I did! The lady at the counter picked out Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle, instantly loved the look so I got it! I've been waiting to use up my crappy foundation for ages so I could buy a new decent one, but I've had Studio Fix before and loved it, so it was just a repurchase. Oh and I also got the little pump to go with it!

Ok so I must admit that I do have a little bit of an obsession with MAC brushes, I can't help it - They're all so amazing! I think every brush is well worth the money and I recommend both the 228 and 275 greatly!

I wanted some lashes which I could get away with in the day and the lady also suggested this one, me being like a lost puppy just bought them but I honestly would not wear these in the day, too extreme for me! Would look great with a chic outfit in the evening. These are the 36 lashes :)

I hope you've enjoyed this post and I will be back very soon! Lots of love xox
